Well, now that October has officially ended, I figured I’d do a quick wrap-up post of my favorites that I discovered in October!

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina came out on October 26th and it was the perfect show to watch before Halloween! I binged it and thought it was the perfect mix of spooky and campy. It wasn’t too scary for me to watch, and I’m so ready to see what happens in Season 2!

Bodyguard also premiered on Netflix on October 24th! It’s only 6 episodes, but I was sucked in right away. I had heard about how it was the most watched drama in the UK and was very curious about it. It does not disappoint! There are SO many twists and turns that keep you riveted and the story is so good.

The official BBC synopsis for the series reads: “Set in and around the corridors of power, Bodyguard tells the fictional story of David Budd (played by Richard Madden), a heroic but volatile war veteran now working as a Specialist Protection Officer for the Royalty and Specialist Protection Branch (RaSP) of London’s Metropolitan Police Service.

“When he is assigned to protect the ambitious and powerful Home Secretary Julia Montague (Keeley Hawes), Budd finds himself torn between his duty and his beliefs. Responsible for her safety, could he become her biggest threat?”

Music

I heard this song at the beginning of October when Josh Groban was doing promos for his new album, “Bridges”. I loved this duet with Jennifer Nettles.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Wicked Broadway show and NBC put on a special, “A Very Wicked Halloween”, to mark the occasion. I’ve seen this show twice, so I was so excited to watch these performances! All the performances are listed on NBC’s youtube page- so go check them out.  Spotify also marked the anniversary with a special playlist with songs selected by the original Glinda, Kristen Chenoweth!

Books

This month I read two amazing books and I will be posting the review posts for those very soon!

Sabrina sounds great and I’m glad I found out about it here because I’ve never heard of it before now. If you watched it all so quickly, it must be pretty good. Even though Halloween has passed, I like spooky stuff all year round!
That specially curated Playlist in Spotify by Kristen Chenoweth! looks great – I will have a listen to it for sure!

  4. Thanks for the recommendation of The Bodyguard. We’re always looking for new series to watch on Netflix. I would have assumed it was some sort of remake of the Kevin Costner/Whitney Houston movie, so I’m glad to read that it sounds more interesting than that!

  7. I’ve seen Bodyguard in the new releases section on Netflix. Oh man, good thing there was only six episodes because it doesn’t take much to finish in one sitting, hehe. Love your playlist!
