If you are heading to Disney this October, you are in for a treat! I went to Disney World last October and attended the Not-So-Scary Halloween party for the first time and had a blast. It was my first time but it definitely won’t be my last.
Disney knows how to decorate!! Even though it may not feel like October weather-wise in Orlando, it sure does look like it. I went during the last week of October and it was perfect weather- the humidity was lower and the temperatures were lower at night.
You definitely do get in the Halloween spirit while you’re at Disney during Halloween. Here are some of my favorite features of the Halloween party at Disney:
Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular
This was pretty much the reason why I wanted to go check out the party in the first place and it did not disappoint! The three Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus are center stage at Magic Kingdom and other famous villains show up for an awesome show. I was surprised at how good the show was! (Get a seat early- this is one of the main attractions)
The Boo-To-You Halloween Parade
I’m from Louisiana where Mardi Gras is a fact of life, so I love a good parade. This parade is super cute and fun. It starts off with the headless horseman riding through Magic Kingdom and that was incredible to see. Definitely sets a spooky theme and the floats are impeccably decorated.
The lines are so much shorter during parties, so we love to hit up our favorites. The Haunted Mansion is spookier and creepier at night and it is a MUST see during the party!
I’m a bit too old for trick-or-treating, but not too old to enjoy themed treats! Disney puts out themed treats and it’s a perfect time to snack on one during the party. This year they have some new one that includes: not-so-poison apple cupcake, Halloween cinnamon roll, Pumpkin cheesecake, Minnie witch brownie, zero waffle sundae, and more! They are at various locations throughout Magic Kingdom. For more information and pictures check out this post from Disney Parks Blog!
Happy HalloWishes Fireworks Show
Every time I go to Disney World, I always try to get in a fireworks show. They are so amazing to watch- especially the Happy HalloWishes show in Magic Kingdom. During the fireworks show, the castle is lit up in spooky colors while a soundtrack of creepy songs plays. It’s the perfect way to end the night.
*Note: You are allowed/encouraged to dress up in costume for the party!
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs from August 31-October 31, 2018.
